About the Bahrain Grand Prix

In 2004 the Bahrain Grand Prix became the first Formula 1 race in the Middle East. TicPro sells official Bahrain Grand Prix tickets for the race at Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.

The abrasive track surface wears the tyres hard, which makes race strategy more complex. Since 2014 the race has been held at night under floodlights.

The race is usually held early in the season and has often opened it, so it gives an early picture of the teams' form. Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are among the drivers with important results in Bahrain.

Where to sit at Bahrain International Circuit

Grandstands stand around the key overtaking zones, and there are general admission areas too. The grandstands near the main straight and the overtaking zones are often in higher demand, so it pays to book early.

Start and finishMain straight

The main straight grandstands look over the start, the finish and the pit lane.

OvertakingFirst corner

The first corner is known for overtaking, and you see the cars brake hard into it.

Wider viewRaised seats

Seats higher up in a grandstand show more of the track, so you follow the cars for longer.

No fixed seatGeneral admission

Open viewing areas instead of a reserved seat.

Weekend tickets usually cover practice, qualifying and the race.
Bahrain International Circuit

The circuit lies in the desert at Sakhir. It opened in 2004 and was designed for Formula 1. The lap is 5.412 km, with long straights and technical corners.

The desert location brings its own conditions, with sand on the track and high temperatures.
