About the Chinese Grand Prix

The Chinese Grand Prix joined the Formula 1 calendar in 2004, as part of the sport's expansion into Asia. Chinese GP tickets on TicPro are official tickets for the race at Shanghai International Circuit.

Hermann Tilke designed the circuit for Formula 1. Its opening sequence of tightening corners is inspired by the Chinese character "shang", and the layout combines technical sections with fast stretches.

The circuit hosted Formula 1's 1000th Grand Prix in 2019. Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg are among the drivers with important results in Shanghai. The race is usually held early in the season.

Shanghai International Circuit

The circuit lies in the Jiading District of Shanghai and opened in 2004. It was built for Formula 1 and other international motorsport, and the lap is 5.451 km.

The long back straight is one of the longest in Formula 1 and gives the cars a chance to overtake before a heavy braking zone. Slow, tightening corners alternate with fast sections.
