About the Hungarian Grand Prix

In 1986 the Hungarian Grand Prix became the first Formula 1 race behind the Iron Curtain, and it has been on the calendar every year since. Hungarian GP tickets on TicPro are official tickets for the race at the Hungaroring.

Several races here have been strategic battles shaped by tyre management and qualifying. Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher are among the drivers with several successes at the Hungaroring.

The race is usually held in the European summer, often as one of the last races before the mid-season break.

Hungaroring

The circuit lies in Mogyoród, just outside Budapest. The lap is 4.381 km and narrow, with few long straights and a sequence of medium- and low-speed corners. Its driving style is often compared to a street circuit.

The circuit opened in 1986. Overtaking is hard here, so qualifying matters a lot.
