London derby: Arsenal vs Fulham

The London derby between Arsenal and Fulham takes you from North London to the bank of the Thames. Arsenal play at Emirates Stadium in Holloway, and Fulham at Craven Cottage, beside the river in the Fulham district of West London.

Fulham was founded in 1879 and is the oldest professional football club in London. Craven Cottage has been its home since 1896. Arsenal was founded in 1886 in Woolwich, moved north to Highbury in 1913 and has played at Emirates Stadium since 2006.

The two grounds are very different. Craven Cottage is compact, with four separate stands, the original cottage in one corner and the Johnny Haynes Stand along one side. Archibald Leitch designed that stand in 1905, and it is the oldest remaining stand in the Football League, with its original wooden seats. At Emirates Stadium the stands run all the way round the pitch, and the stadium was built for clear views from every seat.

The Premier League plays the fixture twice a season, once at each ground. Both matches are on this page: Fulham's home match at Craven Cottage and Arsenal's home match at Emirates Stadium.

Craven Cottage is a compact ground with four separate stands, so the difference between one section and the next matters more here than at a larger stadium. The seat map shows how the stands sit around the pitch and where each category is.
