North London derby: Arsenal vs Tottenham

The North London derby is the meeting between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. The two grounds are about four miles (6.4 km) apart: Arsenal play at Emirates Stadium in Holloway, and Tottenham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which replaced White Hart Lane in 2019.

The clubs first met in the league in 1909, and Arsenal won 1–0. The rivalry really began in 1913, when Arsenal moved north from Woolwich to Highbury, four miles from White Hart Lane. In 1919 it became fiercer, when Arsenal were voted into the First Division instead of Tottenham.

Arsenal have twice won the league title at White Hart Lane, in 1971 and in 2004, the season the Invincibles went through the whole Premier League campaign unbeaten. Tottenham won the league and FA Cup double in 1960–61, the first English club of the twentieth century to do so, and won the Europa League in 2025.

The Premier League plays the derby twice a season, once at each ground. Both matches are on this page: Tottenham's home match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Arsenal's home match at Emirates Stadium.
