About Atalanta
Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio was founded in 1907 and is based in Bergamo, Italy. The club competes in Serie A and regularly takes part in the Coppa Italia and European competitions. Through TicPro you can buy official Atalanta tickets for home matches at the New Balance Arena and for selected away matches.
For long periods of its history, Atalanta moved between Serie A and Serie B. In the modern era it has established itself in the top division and become one of Italy's most consistent clubs, known for attacking football and a strong player development system. The club has also made its mark in European competitions, reaching the later stages of European tournaments. Cristiano Doni is among the players who played a key role in the club's development.
In Bergamo the club is part of the identity of the city and of the Lombardy region. Its home ground, the New Balance Arena, was previously called the Gewiss Stadium. It opened in 1928 and has been extensively redeveloped in recent years, with modern facilities and the stands still close to the pitch.
The New Balance Arena is a compact stadium with the stands close to the pitch, so the choice comes down to which side or end you sit on and how high up you sit. Booking early keeps the widest range of ticket categories open to you.
The lower tier is closest to the pitch. You follow the play at pitch level and see the players up close.
From the sections along the halfway line you see the whole pitch and both penalty areas without turning your head, so the tactics are easy to follow.
The stands behind the goals have a more intense atmosphere, especially at high-profile matches. You see attacking play coming towards you for one half of the match.
Higher up you get a wider view across the whole pitch, so you can follow movement off the ball and the play as a whole.
The New Balance Arena can be reached by local transport from Bergamo city centre. Plan your route and your arrival time in advance.
Arrive well before kick-off to allow time for entry checks. Entry conditions vary by ticket type and competition.
Bergamo is known for its historic upper town, Città Alta. Many visitors combine the match with time in the city.
