About Hertha Berlin

Hertha BSC was founded in 1892 and is one of the oldest football clubs in Germany. The name comes from a steamship called Hertha, which one of the founders had seen on a boat trip on the River Havel. TicPro sells official Hertha Berlin tickets for the club's league and cup matches.

In the early decades of German football Hertha was one of the leading clubs in the country. The team reached several national championship finals in the late 1920s and early 1930s, and won the German championship in 1930 and again in 1931.

Hertha has spent much of its modern history in Germany's top professional leagues and has played in European competitions in several periods. Striker Michael Preetz, who later became the club's sporting director, and former Germany international Arne Friedrich are among the names linked with the club.

Today Hertha plays in the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of German football, and takes part in the DFB-Pokal, the national cup. The club is a central part of football in the German capital, with supporters all over the city.
