About Newcastle United
Newcastle United Football Club is based in Newcastle upon Tyne and plays in the Premier League, the top level of English football. The club also takes part in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup, and in European competitions when it qualifies. On this page you can buy official Newcastle United tickets and compare seating categories before you book.
The club was formed in 1892, when Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End merged, and it has been closely tied to the football culture of North East England ever since. Newcastle became one of England's leading teams in the early 20th century, winning several First Division titles before the First World War, and won the FA Cup three times in the 1950s.
In more recent decades Newcastle has competed at the top level of English football and has played in the Champions League and the Europa League. Alan Shearer, the club's all-time leading scorer and a former England captain, is the player most closely associated with Newcastle. Sir Bobby Robson managed the club in the early 2000s and led it to consistent results in the top division.
Home is St James' Park, close to the city centre, and the stadium has been part of the Newcastle skyline for generations. The best-known rivalry is with Sunderland, the Tyne–Wear derby. There is also a regional rivalry with Middlesbrough, the Tyne–Tees derby.
What you see at St James' Park depends on how close to the pitch you sit and how high up. Booking early gives you a wider choice of seats.
The seats closest to the pitch, on all four sides of the ground.
The Milburn Stand and the Leazes End have large upper tiers. From up here you can follow play across the whole pitch.
Seats along the sides of the pitch give an equally good view of both penalty areas.
These categories may include access to a lounge and additional services. What is included is stated for each ticket category.
St James' Park is close to the city centre, and many supporters walk to the ground from nearby train stations, Metro stops and other central transport links. Plan your journey in advance.
Arrive before kick-off to allow time for entry procedures and security checks. Requirements vary by ticket type and competition, and we recommend bringing valid ID.
On matchdays the city centre fills with supporters on their way to the stadium. Shops, restaurants and historic landmarks are close by, so you can combine the match with a day in the city.
