London derby: Tottenham vs Chelsea

The London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea brings together two sides of the city. Tottenham play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London, which replaced White Hart Lane in 2019, and Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge in Fulham, West London.

The clubs first met in the league in 1909, and Chelsea won 2–1 at Stamford Bridge. In 1967 they played the first FA Cup final between two London clubs, and Tottenham won 2–1. They have also met twice in the League Cup final: Tottenham won in 2008, and Chelsea won in 2015.

Between 1990 and 2006, Tottenham went sixteen years without beating Chelsea in the league. In 2016 the clubs drew 2–2 at Stamford Bridge, and that result gave Leicester City the Premier League title.

Tottenham won the league and FA Cup double in 1960–61 and the Europa League in 2025. Chelsea won the Champions League in 2012 and in 2021. The Premier League plays the derby twice a season, once at each ground, and both matches are on this page.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 360°See how steep the stand is before you choose a row

The South Stand is one steep tier, and the upper sections are high above the pitch. The view from the actual row shows you far more than a seating plan can.

The stadium opened in 2019, and the view is good from every part of it, including the upper tiers. What varies most is how close to the pitch you sit and how steep the stand is.

Stamford Bridge in 360°A compact ground rewards the right section

Stamford Bridge holds just over 40,000, so almost every seat is close to the pitch. That makes the angle matter more than the distance, and the gap between a corner section and a central one is bigger than the price suggests. Open the section and look around from the row you are booking.

The ground kept its old footprint through every redevelopment, which is why the stands sit so close to the pitch. Four stands run around the pitch, and each one offers something different.

Behind the goal and traditionally the most vocal part of the ground. Lower tier for atmosphere, upper tier if you want to follow play across the whole pitch.

The opposite goal, built on the site of the standing terrace that gave the stand its name. Part of the stand, across both tiers, is set aside for away supporters.

The two long sides. The central sections give equally good sight of both penalty areas and are usually the first to sell out for a big fixture.
