About the Barcelona Grand Prix

Teams and drivers know Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya better than most tracks: it has hosted Formula 1 since 1991 and is often used for pre-season testing. Barcelona F1 tickets on TicPro are official tickets for the race in Montmeló, just outside Barcelona. Since 2026 the race has officially been called the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.

Fast corners, long straights and technical sections make it a complete test of a car. Turn 3, a long, fast right-hander, is known for its aerodynamic demands.

Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton are among the drivers with important results here. Because the track is so technical, it is often used to judge how a car has developed during the season.

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

The circuit opened in 1991 in Montmeló, just outside Barcelona. Its main straight is long enough for overtaking, and the 4.657 km lap has many different types of corner, which is why teams have so often used it for testing.

Changes to the layout have aimed to give better racing and more chances to overtake.
