The stands at Stadio Olimpico sit beyond an athletics track, so the seat you pick decides how close you are to the pitch and how much of it you see. Open the 3D seat map, move around the stands and see what a section actually gives you, rather than guessing from a section number.
Stadio Olimpico · 3D seat mapThe stands run all the way round the pitch, so the choice comes down to which end or side you sit on and how high up you are. Booking early keeps the widest range of seating categories open to you.
The lower tier brings you closest to the pitch, although the athletics track keeps even the front rows at some distance. You follow the play at pitch level.
Sections in the central stands show the full width of the pitch and both penalty areas without turning your head, so the tactics are easy to follow.
The Curva Sud behind one goal is the liveliest part of the ground, because it is where Roma's organised supporters stand. You see attacking play coming towards you for one half of the match.
The upper tier gives a wider view across the whole pitch. From up here you can follow movement off the ball and the play as a whole.
Stadio Olimpico is reached by public transport and by road across Rome. Plan your route and your entrance in advance to avoid delays.
Arrive ahead of kick-off. Entry procedures and stadium access take time at a ground this size, and conditions vary by ticket type and competition.
Supporters gather around the stadium before kick-off. Many visitors pair the match with the centre of Rome, the Colosseum and Vatican City.
About AS Roma
Associazione Sportiva Roma was founded in 1927 through a merger of several Roman clubs, with the aim of creating one strong representative team for the capital. The club competes in Serie A and takes part regularly in the Coppa Italia and European competitions.
Roma has spent every season but one in Serie A. It has won the league three times, in 1942, 1983 and 2001, and the Coppa Italia nine times. In 2022 it won the first Conference League, and in 1984 it reached the European Cup final. Among its notable figures are Francesco Totti, who spent his entire career at Roma, and Daniele De Rossi, both central to the club's modern identity.
Home is Stadio Olimpico, one of Italy's largest football venues. It opened in 1953 and has been modernised several times since, including for the 1960 Olympics and, most extensively, for the 1990 World Cup, when the stands were rebuilt and roofed. Roma has strong local support across the city, and shares Stadio Olimpico with Lazio, its rival in the Derby della Capitale.
