About Hertha Berlin
Hertha BSC was founded in 1892 and is one of the oldest football clubs in Germany. The name comes from a steamship called Hertha, which one of the founders had seen on a boat trip on the River Havel. TicPro sells official Hertha Berlin tickets for the club's league and cup matches.
In the early decades of German football Hertha was one of the leading clubs in the country. The team reached several national championship finals in the late 1920s and early 1930s, and won the German championship in 1930 and again in 1931.
Hertha has spent much of its modern history in Germany's top professional leagues and has played in European competitions in several periods. Striker Michael Preetz, who later became the club's sporting director, and former Germany international Arne Friedrich are among the names linked with the club.
Today Hertha plays in the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of German football, and takes part in the DFB-Pokal, the national cup. The club is a central part of football in the German capital, with supporters all over the city.
Olympiastadion has tiers of seating all the way round, with an athletics track between the stands and the pitch. The choice comes down to how high you sit and which side of the pitch you want to be on. Booking early keeps the widest range of seating categories open to you.
The lower tier puts you closest to the pitch. You follow the play at pitch level and see the players up close.
From the upper tier you see the whole pitch and the whole stadium from above, so you can follow movement off the ball and the play as a whole.
Sections in the middle of the main stand show the full width of the pitch and both penalty areas without turning your head. From here you also look out over the team benches.
Hospitality tickets may include premium seating and additional services such as lounge access. What is included is stated on each ticket before you book.
S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains serve the Olympiastadion area in western Berlin. Plan your route and your entrance before matchday.
Arrive well before kick-off to allow time for entry checks. Entry rules can vary with the event and the security arrangements.
Berlin is Germany's largest city. Many visitors combine the match with the city's historic sites, museums and parks.
