The two clubs have met in the Champions League before. In the 2011–12 group stage, Aleksandar Kolarov's free kick earned City a 1–1 draw at home, and Napoli won the return match 2–1 in Naples. In the league phase of the 2025–26 season, City won 2–0.

Napoli were founded in 1926 and play in Serie A. The club's most famous years came with Diego Armando Maradona, who led Napoli to their first two Serie A titles, in 1987 and 1990. Their home ground, Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, is named after him.

The Etihad was built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games and has been Manchester City's home ground since 2003.

Getting there

The Etihad is served by Manchester's tram network and nearby rail stations. Fixing the journey home in advance is worth the five minutes it takes.

When to arrive

Come ahead of kick-off to allow for entry procedures and security checks. Requirements vary by competition and ticket type, and we recommend bringing valid ID.
